Next up... a free XBOX 360!

Ok, so assuming nothing goes awry with the iPod, next up... the XBOX 360, my buddy Steve referred me to this one, same site actually (Freepay / Gratis), and the same offers, only differences here - you're getting the XBOX 360 Premium Edition, which includes the wireless controller, headset, hard drive, etc, retails for $499CDN (FutureShop), and you need 10 completed referrals instead of 5...

Don't Wait, the sooner you nip in and start doing this, the easier it'll be to find 10 people...

Yummy Yummy, Spicy Curry Flavored Lays!
Arlene picked up a bag of these, and man they are really tasty! They sort of remind me of the roast Chicken flavored chips that I used to get from the farmers market in Elmira when I was a kid... Whacky... Anyhow, they're awesome, I've googled on them an no joy, don't know if it's a special one-off promotion, like those cross Canada flavors they came up with, but they're the sh*znit...

  iPod Quest - Approved!!!
Ah, I feel as if I've cleared the last hurdle in a long race... It's my own damn fault, I've been logging into the freepay site practically every day for the last 4 weeks to check my status!

Anyway, I had to rub my eyes, but YES! I was approved, so I'd put in my order and now just have to wait for my little baby to ship... The web site claims a 6-8 week delay for the 30GB iPod, Pete mentioned the same thing, but he seemed to receive his within about a week or two of placing his order, so I think that might be a ploy on their part to get people to pick the cheaper model... Anyhow, it's done and dusted now, I suppose I just wait for it to arrive! Yippee!!!

If you're interested in joining, shoot me an email and I'll send you the referral links of one of the folks who signed up under me...

I'll post pictures when my iPod arrives!

AuctionStealer - FREE eBay sniping software
AuctionStealer - FREE online auction site sniping software

This is actually a very handy tool if you use eBay regularly. The FREE version allows you to 'snipe' 3 items per week, basically you login to the AuctionStealer site, enter in the eBay Auction ID & the Amount you want to bid (the idea here is to put in the MAXIMUM amount you'd be willing to pay), and the site's servers will automatically place your bid for you 10-20 seconds before the end of the auction. This is a much better approach than getting into a week-long bidding war with someone (or multiple people) who want the item. Better to let an existing bidder sit there thinking he'll win it, and then SNIPE it at the last minute! I've used it and it works great, the only time I don't win the auction is when it goes for more than I'm willing to pay, which is fine...

  New Members of the Family

This weekend 2 new critters joined the Walter family...

Maggie (pictured here), and her sister Marley... Maggie and Marley are Dwarf Hamsters, they seem to be adjusting well, enjoying life in their cage, especially the wheel...

More pictures to come...

  Ray Kurzweil Article
Since I discovered this guy (via a sidebar article in Wired), I've been enthralled by his vision... I'm currently reading his latest book the Singularity is Near, and it's been my most popular topic of conversation... In a nutshell, Ray is a world-renowned inventor and futurist who predicts that within the next 40 years non-biological intelligence (aka computers & AI) will become exponentially more intelligent than humans beings and with continued exponential growth in the development of all technology, nanotech, genetics research, etc, we will have the ability to live forever! Pretty powerful stuff... He wrote an article that was published this month in Futurist magazine, here's a link to a PDF version of the article, it's only 7 pages long, accompanied by some little related articles/critiques by some other writers... I STRONGLY recommend you take 10 minutes and read this... It's mind blowing, incredibly cool stuff!

  iPod Quest - Update
Here's the proof, it really does work... This is Peter Kroll, a friend of mine who referred me to the program, proudly displaying his iPod...

I'm still waiting for 'approval', it's been about 16 business days now, they quote 7-10 on their web site, but Pete had a similar experience, it took about 20 business days for him too (4 weeks)

  Very Cool...
I was at Cafe Volo the other night, and they have a little flatscreen monitor running some neat videos, one in particular I was entralled with, it was showing this continuous impossible machine sort of chain reaction thing, I asked Ralph what it was, he didn't know the name, but after 30 minutes to googling tonight, I've found out what it was...

It's called "The Way Things Go", and in total it's 30 minutes long... Anyhow, I'm going to try to get my hands on a copy of the DVD because it's absolutely fascinating to watch - Here's a trailer showing just the first few minutes... http://www.tcfilm.ch/pop_lauf1e.htm

Also while googling, I found this 'homage' a Honda Accord ad, which is also fun to watch...

Enjoy!

I think a lot. Some people say I think too much... However, I don't want to be seen as being aloof or pretentious, it's just that I really enjoy philosophical questions and deep thoughts. That's not to say that I don't find pleasure in more down-to-earth or trivial things, like beer and soccer :) I'm happily married with 3 wonderful children. I'm a partner in a technology services company based in Toronto. Myers Briggs says I'm an ENTJ
